چکیده

A passive dosimeter designed to measure exposure to hydrogen fluoride was tested under laboratory conditions over the concentration range of 0.56 – 4.47 mg HF/m. The lowest concentration was chosen to be close to the Polish TLV (0.5 mg HF/m). The dosimeter consists of a Whatman No.1 filter paper impregnated with K2HPO4 placed in a polyethylene holder protected by a polyethylene screen. After exposure the filter is eluted with 0.1 M sodium citrate and the fluoride concentration determined potentiometrically.

Active Personal Dosimeter in a Nuclear Medicine Center in Yazd City, Iran

Introduction: Active personal dosimeters (APDs) are well accepted as useful and reliable instruments for individual dosimetry measurements. APDs have many advantages compared with passive dosimeters for individual external radiation dose assessments. In routine monitoring, occupational exposure is carried out for verification and demonstration of compliance with the regulatory dose limits. So, ...

Neutron field correction coefficients for active and passive dosimeters in Cernavoda NPP

This work evaluated the Hp(10)dose for the personnel exposed in mixed field inside several locations of reactor 1 building at Cernavoda NPP. In order to achieve this we used active (EPD N2 and DMC 2000GN) and passive (TLD 8806) personnel dosimeters and one ambient neutron monitor for H*(10) evaluation. The dose correction coefficients vary from one room to another depending on the neutron spect...

A new passive integrating detector for measurement of individual radon exposure at working places

A new instrument was developed to measure radon exposure with the use of passive monitors like nuclear track etch detectors. It is based on a device to be switched on and off to permit accurate measurements of timed exposures. The detector arrangement consists of a small cylindrical chamber, a mobile piston inside, a filter holder, a detector holder. The internal sampling volume is variable. Th...

Evaluating the Effects of Dual Frequency Sonication Parameters on Acoustic Cavitation by Chemical Dosimeter Using Iodide

Background and Aims: Production of acoustic cavitation by sonication has been recently recommended as a targeted treatment. The experimental results from studies indicate that the activity of cavitation generated by bi- or multi-frequency ultrasound irradiation is higher than that caused by single frequency irradiation. In this study, effects dual (1 MHz and 40 kHz) and single frequency soni...

Assessment of occupational exposures in a general population: comparison of different methods.

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the relative merits of job specific questionnaires and various alternative assessment methods of occupational exposures often used in general population studies. METHODS Subjects were participants in a hospital based case-control study of risk factors for male infertility. Estimates of exposure to organic solvents and chromium, based on job specific questionnaires, gene...
